Concrete Void Filling and Repair in Omaha Nebraska

This concrete void filling project had a large section of soil that had disappeared beneath the surface.  This was due primarily to water infiltration washing large amounts of soil away.  Our clients primary concern was safety, as they were afraid to let their kids play in the area due to concerns of collapse.

To maintain the integrity of the concrete slab, ConcreteMedic filled in the void with polyurethane foam.  We lift concrete every day using the same polyurethane foam that we used to fill this void. In this instance, there was no need to lift the concrete, as it had not yet settled.  We didn’t fill the void completely in the video, as it was filmed as an instructional tool.  We continued to fill up the cavity as well as spray foam from the side of the opening.  Though many may think this is an unusual circumstance, it’s actually quite common.  In many cases from jobs where we’re performing work, concrete won’t begin to lift until the void beneath is completely full.  We were fortunate in this case, we could actually see what was going on beneath the surface.  In many cases, we’re simply injecting foam, waiting for lift to occur, not knowing what quantity will be required.  If more homeowners knew what lay beneath their driveway, concrete void filling would be a much more common service than it is currently.
