This concrete front walkway had sunk nearly 5″ before we arrived to help. Using our poly foam concrete mudjacking process, we were able to get the slab lifted back into the proper position. We ended up saving the homeowner well over $1000 versus the cost of replacement. The cause of this concrete sinking is very similar to most problems we see…water. Water coming out of gutter downspouts causes a lot of the damage we see on a daily basis. We adhere to a pretty solid principle when it comes to water. The further and faster you can get it away from your home, the less problems you’ll have. And by home, we also mean concrete. Keep the water away and a majority of your problems will go away. Will concrete still sink? Possibly, as there is also a fair amount of sinking concrete caused by poor compaction. However, poor compaction comprises only about 25% of the problems we see.
If you have sinking concrete (and like saving money!), don’t hesitate to give us a call, we’d love to help! We can be reached via Facebook, our Google profile, here on our website (myconcretemedic.com) or by phone at 402.619.6116. We look forward to speaking with you!
